Hunting tips

Wild boar are tough, quick, and dangerous when wounded. Treat every encounter seriously and confirm the animal is dead before approach.

• Confirm provincial, municipal, and landowner rules first.
• Use cover or a stand where possible and plan a safe second shot.
• Shot placement matters. A wounded boar can charge and injure people nearby.
• Report sightings or kills so movement can be tracked.
